Things I Need/Want Right Meow
This is a list of a few things I’ve been researching that I really really want to have. I am also going to post prices and functions of all of the things in case you would like them yourself. Also, if anyone has an idea on how I can make money to get these things, please don’t hesitate to tell me! P.S. This is a little bit long, and I’m sorry if this doesn’t interest you. But it’s my blog, get over it.
1.) Physicians Formula Airbrushing Kabuki Brush– First off, I have read tons of reviews on every product on here. This one had amazing reviews. Everyone says it makes your foundation look flawless and it actually follows through with its airbrushing promise. The only place I’ve been able to find this product besides on Amazon is Ulta. With all of this being said, it is an amazing brush and it’s also pretty inexpensive compared to most kabuki brushes or just normal brushes in general. This comes to about $11.00 at Ulta. I think it’s worth it, but I haven’t tried it yet. I’ll update later on all of these products.
2.) BeautyBlender– This is a special sponge that is meant to be used slightly wet or damp. It is mainly used for liquid foundation and concealer. Again, reviews were phenomenal and it’s supposed to make your makeup look extremely beautiful. Some people, I’ve heard, swear by it. Now, this little sponge is $20.00 and you reuse it for a few months, and then buy a new one. It also comes with a cleanser, which I’ve heard is kind of useless, for I think $30.00. This can be found at Sephora, I believe. To me, that’s a little expensive for a sponge. So, other alternatives would be:
a.) Sonia Kashuk Blending Sponge for $10.00. This one is blue and is shaped a little different from the Beauty Blender, which is an egg shape. Some people say they like this one a lot better than the Beauty Blender itself because it’s easier to hold, it’s less expensive and it does the same thing. I will probably be getting this one, because why spend more for a brand name when you can get something just as good for a better price?
b.) Super Blender Elliptical Sponge by Ulta for I think $5.00. Now, some people said that this one wears out a lot faster than the other two. So in that sense, it may be better to just buy one of the more expensive ones that can be used a lot longer. This one is orange, and is the same shape as the Sonia Kashuk one. I may get this one to try out before either of the other ones, but I’m a little bit skeptical because I really don’t want to buy it more often than I need to.
3.) Ben Nye Red Neutralizers– Well, the other night I was just watching random makeup videos and I came across this guy who had really bad acne scarring and he had made a video about how to cover those kinds of things up. One of the things he had used was Ben Nye Tattoo Concealer and it worked amazingly well! I had become instantly interested because I have yet to find a concealer I like in the five years I’ve been doing makeup. So, I researched further and these products have received fantastic reviews! You may be thinking ‘well, if the tattoo concealer had good reviews, why do you want the red neutralizer?’ I read further about the different concealers this brand had to offer. I learned that the tattoo concealer is better for covering up things with greenish-black colors. The red neutralizer is so much better for acne and the red spots on my cheeks. They also have concealers that hide yellows and oranges and things like that. So, if this is something you’d be interested in, I’d recommend either going to eBay and finding one for you or Google places near you that sell it. Keep in mind, though that Ben Nye products are stage makeup. Meaning they are made to be super thick and stay on for a long time. So, if you aren’t looking for something that is heavy, this is not for you. As for price goes, the costume store close to me sells it for $8.00 but the prices range from wherever you decide to buy it from.
4.) Ben Nye Color Cake Foundation– So, I was immediately turned off by this product because of the word ‘cake’ in it. But then I got really curious as to what it really was. So I read a lot about it and I then decided I wanted it! Pretty much, since it being stage makeup, it is used for actors who are moving a lot under very, very hot lights. It’s made to stay on while you sweat. And another thing I loved about it is that it’s made for sensitive skin. I probably have the most sensitive skin in the world! Anything can touch my face and it will freak out. Also, I live in Texas so of course I sweat a lot, a lot during the summer, sometimes making it impossible to even wear makeup. So I was thrilled when I found this! Again, this isn’t something sold at a drug store or department store. The price ranges from probably 6 dollars maybe up to around 15. I’ll say this again, these are makeups that are very very heavy and won’t suite everybody so, find something that is good for your skin type and your lifestyle.
5.) Ben Nye Face Powder– This is the last Ben Nye product I will be mentioning. It is pretty much just a translucent setting powder. It’s the one in the middle of the picture. How I found out about this specific product was watching MissChievous videos late at night. She had one, and she said she loves it. So, anything she loves, I of course have to try. It also has an antiperspirant in it to help you not sweat, which I thought was incredible! I cannot stress enough that you need to find products that specifically fit you and your needs. These products are by no means everyone’s cup of tea. Anyway, at the store by me, this is around 6 dollars. It looks to me like the Ben Nye products would last a pretty long time, especially since I do not do my makeup every day. But even if you are a person who does your makeup at least once a day, I think they’d last quite a while.
6.) Mascara– This one doesn’t have a specific title because I haven’t really decided which one I want yet. It’s always a pain in the ass trying to find a mascara for me. I pretty much hate everything. Anyway, I ran out of my old mascara, Great Lash by Maybelline. So, I decided that I would try to find a better one since I wasn’t completely happy with that one. My problem is that although my eyelashes are incredibly long, they are very thin and light. So, it’s very difficult for me to find a mascara that actually makes my eyelashes thicker. Because, to be honest, long eyelashes are just ugly if they don’t have that volume to even things out. Two of the ones I’ve really been wanting to try are Falsies Volum’ Express and One By One Volum’ Express, both by Maybelline. The only problem is that people say they’d love Falsies if it weren’t for the brush. Brushes are crucial for me because it’s the difference between clean-looking lashes and nasty, spidery ones. The problem with One by One is that there aren’t enough reviews out there for me to really want to pay for it. A LOT of people, though have been raving about Colossal, also by Maybelline. The only thing is that I’ve tried it before, and it was pretty good. I just didn’t like it enough to purchase it twice. So, if anyone has suggestions, please inform me!
